Virus Removal Tools
There is an application is popping up on people’s computers called “Hard Drive Diagnostics” which promises to fix your hard drive problems…for a fee.
This is an infection, and is not a legitimate application.
The fact that it “popped up” should be one of your first clue. Windows does have hard drive diagnostic software, but it doesn’t pop up automatically.
To get rid of the Hard Drive Diagnostics infection, update your current antivirus and anti-malware software, or if you don’t have any, then get a great free antivirus download, and then boot into SAFE MODE on your computer to do a complete scan. SuperAntiSpyware seems to get rid of it currently.
If you prefer a more manual process, try this:

C:\Users\[User Name]\AppData\Local\Temp (Windows Vista, Windows Seven)
4. Delete all files from that directory. Some files will be locked by the malware. If so, the:
5. Open process explorer again. End explorer.exe process.
6. Create new task “explorer.exe”.
7. Delete the files which were locked
8. Search for occurence of “2154875124″ (or whatever that number is)
9. Delete entries which refers to that program.
10. Scan your computer with anti-malware software afterward (Superantispyware)
